The city of Davis and Paired Power have announced the installation of a PairTree solar electric-vehicle charging station at Playfields Park in Davis.

The PairTree system offers off-grid operation to ensure reliable charging even during power outages, and contributes to energy savings. The system’s design allows for one-day installation.

“The goal of making electric vehicles accessible to everyone requires scalable solutions that can be deployed quickly in locations where there is little to no grid power. Paired Power is proud to work with the City of Davis to expand access to solar-powered EV charging, and this project demonstrates the city leadership’s forward-thinking approach to clean energy,” said Tom McCalmont, CEO of Paired Power.

Playfields Parks’ PairTree system has two EV charging ports and can deliver a Level 2 charging rate of up to 7.7kW for one vehicle or 4kW per vehicle for two vehicles charging simultaneously. Any electric vehicle, including Teslas can use the PairTree.

Charging with the PairTree is free – no apps, cards or accounts required. The EV charging spaces are limited to two hours to ensure fair access.
