Sustainable PR, located in downtown Glens Falls NY, is a green public relations firm serving organizations with a mission in sustainability. We are offering a PAID PR internship for the fall/winter semester. Work will be done primarily remotely, with one weekly on-site meeting which will follow all social distancing, mask and safety protocols. Internship pays $11.50 per hour up to 20 hours per week, with an opportunity for full time employment upon successful completion of the program.
Ideal candidates are college students in their junior or senior year, or recent graduates who are interested in a career in communications, marketing, or business. Applicants should be curious about both traditional print media and digital media and looking for opportunities to learn how the media industry works and influences public opinion. Candidates must possess strong research, writing, and interpersonal communications skills.
Applicants should have access to their own computer and a dependable internet connection. Work will involve heavy use of cloud-based subscription software and databases, which will be provided. Interns will work directly under the direction of the agency owner, building connections with media professionals and clients worldwide while developing marketable skills working on exciting national PR campaigns focused on ecological sustainability.
Day-to-day duties include:
• Researching media outlets and industries
• Building targeted media and influencer lists
• Writing press releases, blogs, and other content
• Engaging media and influencers via phone and email to pitch client stories
• Creating social media and content marketing posts
• Monitoring and measuring campaign results via daily feed subscription services
Familiarity with Customer Resource Management (CRM) software or databases such as Salesforce or ACT is a plus.
